After the death of his father he inherited the 110 hectare (275 acre) Zacisze manorial farm near Biala Podlaska in Poland. He was arrested by the communist in 1944 and imprisoned in Biala Podlaska and then in Siedlce. He was taken to a Soviet concentration camp in Orsza, where he died. Zacisze was confiscated by the communists in 1944. His manorial farm in Zacisze in the borough of Sidorki is listed in the 1930 business directory of Poland "Ksiega Adresowa Polski (wraz z w. m. Gdanskiem) dla handlu, przemyslu, rzemiosl i rolnictwa" available in digitized form, page 704/592. It had an area of 160 hectares (400 acres).
